Katherine "KAY" DOWNEY

Katherine L “Kay” Downey of North Weymouth passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022 at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Downey.

Kay was born on March 8, 1926 to the late Walther F. and Sarah (Long) Spencer.  She loved boating, swimming and entertaining family and friends at the family’s pool. Her absolute favorite pastime was spending time with her loving family.

Kay is survived by her children:  Thomas F. Downey and his wife Carol, Mary Ramsay and Anne Cusick and her husband Brian.  Her brother: William F. Spencer and his wife Patricia.  She was a caring grandmother to Tim Downey and his wife Melanie, Caryn Vernon and her husband Juan, Kyle Ramsay, Shaun Ramsay, Tom Cusick, Kelly Cusick and Jack Cusick, In addition to her great grandchildren Ava, William, Eli, Mateo, and Elena; she leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held in St. Jerome’s Church, 632 Bridge St. North Weymouth on Monday June 13, from 9:45 - 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment will be at Old North Weymouth Cemetery immediately following. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited. www.spencerfuneralservice.com
