William Francis Taylor Jr.

William Francis Taylor Jr., born on January 27, 1968, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 28, 2026. Throughout his fifty-eight years, Bill was known for his positive outlook, helpful spirit, and unwavering cheerfulness, leaving a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Bill grew up in Dorchester and was educated in the Boston School system. Committed to hard work from a young age, he followed in his father's footsteps and devoted years of service to the City of Boston Parks Department. William's dedication extended beyond public service—he was also a talented and steadfast Union Iron Worker Local #7. His contributions in both fields touched the lives of colleagues, friends, and community members alike.

Those who knew Bill best fondly recall his love for all sports and the camaraderie he found while meeting friends at Wainwright Park and the Peabody tavern. His easygoing and cheerful nature meant he was always willing to lend a hand, ready with a smile and a word of encouragement that uplifted those around him.

Family was central to Bill's life. He was beloved Husband of Mary T. Glover, and the Beloved  Father of William (Billy) F. . Taylor III. Dear Brother of Linda Evans of Abington, Joanne McIntyre of Rockland Mary Barends of Weymouth,  Dorothy Hook of Bridgewater, Diane Duffy of Braintree,  John Barends of West Bridgewater and Elaine Taylor-Matthews of Braintree. 

Billy is the Brother of the late Charles Barends, James Barends, and William Barends, each of whom shared a special bond with him. The enduring memories he maintained with his deceased family members are a testament to his loyalty, warmth, and devotion. Son of the late William F. and Elaine Taylor.

Friends and loved ones are invited to honor William’s life at a Mass on Thursday August 6, 2026, at St. Marks Church, located at 1725 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester, MA. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m.

William Francis Taylor Jr.’s legacy is one of steadfast service, joyful companionship, and a positive spirit that will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
