William G Hartford of Dennis formerly of Scituate, Norwell and So Boston.July 14,2011
Graduated from Boston Trade in 1960, immediately entered the air force
followed by a long distinguished career as a Boston Police Detective(ret).
Billy had a passion for plants and his beloved Jack Russell Kerry. During his career
he shared his love of plants with the community of Allston/Brighton while stationed at
District 14. In retirement he turned his love for gardening in to a hobby that fed a wide
spread Brazilian community statewide of their beloved Jilo, thus earning the name "Jilo Bill".
He enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Brazil and sharing his many tales with his good friends.
Bill loved his family dearly and is survived by a son William G Hartford IV, Daughters Kate Hartford Kennedy and Heather Becker,
Grandchildren Victoria, Jennifer, Daniel,Shay, Keegan and Bryan, Brothers Michael, Jimmy, Paul and Kenny and his dog Kerry and many Nieces and Nephews
Billy joins his late Wife Mary Ann O'Brien Hartford, Brother's Johnny and Bobby, Sister Ellen and his Parents in eternity.Funeral from the Wm.F.Spencer Funeral Home 575 E.Broadway South Boston on Monday at 9 AM.Funeral Mass in St.Brigid"s Church at 10 AM. Relatives and Friends Invited . Visiting Hours Sunday 4-8 PM.Interment St.Mary's Cemetery,Scituate
