ROBERT A. BOUCHIE SR.

Robert A. Bouchie Sr., Of Gloucester 83, passed away on January 13th, after a brief illness, at the Bear Hill Rehabilitation Center in Stoneham.

Bob was born in Gloucester on October 15th, 1939, son of the late Herman A. Bouchie and Marie A. (Boudreau) Bouchie.  He lived most of his life on the North Shore, with a three-year career stop in Atlanta, Georgia.  He graduated with the Gloucester High School class of 1957.

Bob was a life-long, master machinist/model maker for almost 50 years.  He was a proud employee of Polaroid Corp. during their surge in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with their instant photography.  His fine, hand-machining tollerances were widely known, and he entertained interest from foreign manufacturing companies throughout his career.

His free time was often spent reading, traveling, photographing, hiking, bicycling, and he loved a competitive game of cribbage.  He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. #892.

He is survived by his three children: Ganine Montgomery, Robyn Casey and her husband Joseph, Robert A. Bouchie Jr., all of Gloucester; five grandchildren, Connor, Tristian and Olivia Casey, also, Andrew and Sydney Bouchie.  His siblings; Sandra, wife of John Sperry; Ronald, husband of Andrea Bouchie; all of Gloucester.  He had a sibling~like relationship with his cousin Alvin Boudreau and his wife Barbara.  He was predeceased by his brother Raymond, and sister-in-law Grace (Randazza) Bouchie.

ARRANGEMENTS: In following through with his life-long wishes, Bob will bequest his body to the Boston University School of Medicine as a ‘whole body’, anatomical donor.  After his educational program is completed, his ashes will be scattered atop the Atlantic Ocean by his family.
