Nancy Ellen Menjin, 65, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday May 21, 2026 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, George V Menjin, Jr. He was truly her soulmate and best friend. She is also survived by her children, Jennifer of South Boston, George and wife Cassandra of Bridgewater, and Patrick and fiancé Katelyn of South Boston. She was the loving Nana to Lillian, Matilda, and Benjamin Menjin of Bridgewater.
Nancy was the daughter of the late Sgt Leon “Don” and Ann Reitman of South Boston. She leaves behind two sisters, Susan Gavaghan, and her husband Al and Lisa Burns, and her husband Bobby, all of whom she loved dearly. She was sister-in-law to James and Stacey Menjin and Tricia Menjin who she shared a special relationship with. She was the aunt to Erin, Brendan, Maura, Tavis, Calum, Rachel, Emily, and Andrew; as well as Great Aunt to Molly, Callie, Veronica, and Anthony. Life long friend to Jay and Kathy Stack.
She spent over 20 years working as a Registered Nurse for Mass General Hospital. She loved her career and the people who she worked with throughout the years. She loved living in South Boston and is survived by many close friends in the area. She was member of South Boston Yacht Club, South Boston Irish American Society, Castle Island Association, and South Boston Historical Society.
Funeral from the Wm. F. Spencer Funeral Home 575 E. Broadway (at H st) South Boston on Tuesday May 26, at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Gate of Heaven Church 609 E. Fourth St. South Boston at 10 o'clock. Msgr. Kevin O'Leary will be the celebrant. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 Pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael Burke Foundation 37 Central Ave. Milton, MA. 02186. Funeral mass can be livestreamed at www.gateofheavenstbrigid.org
