Maureen Ann McAuliffe, a beloved member of the South Boston community and a dedicated customer service representative for Cable Vision, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2026, at Faulkner Hospital in Boston, MA. Born on January 29, 1952, in Boston, Maureen’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to those she served and the simple joys she cherished.

Educated in the Boston school system, Maureen was a proud graduate of South Boston High School. Her love for her hometown was evident throughout her life, as was her passion for making her surroundings more beautiful. Many neighbors fondly remember how she brightened their days with her exceptional gardening skills, tending to her plants with care and transforming her building’s environment into a haven of natural beauty.

Maureen found great happiness in her daily walks along Castle Island, taking in the fresh air and stopping at Sully’s for a treasured lunch. An avid lover of pets, she held a special place in her heart for cats and dogs, sharing her compassion and joy with all creatures great and small.

She is warmly remembered for her cheerful personality and the way she worked to make everyone around her happy, never hesitating to lend a smile or a helping hand. Maureen’s kindness extended beyond family to a wide circle of friends and community members who felt her genuine warmth and generosity.

Maureen is survived by her stepmother, Marge McAuliffe; her siblings, Katie McAuliffe, Tommy McAuliffe, Pat McAuliffe, and Peggy McAuliffe; and her cherished friends Chris Loughlin and Regina Wall. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends who were enriched by her presence in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward McAuliffe and Anna Mary (Linehan) McAuliffe, and her sister Annie McAuliffe.

A Mass honoring Maureen’s life will be held on June 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Gate of Heaven Church located at 841 E Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Maureen are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman who brought beauty, kindness, and unwavering dedication to all she did.

Maureen Ann McAuliffe’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and the community she so deeply cared for.
