MARY ALICE MARCO

Mary Marco, a long-time resident of Framingham, MA died unexpectedly on May 10 at the age of 63. Mary is survived by her husband Robert K. Marco; her children Robert N. Marco and Timothy J. Marco; her daughter-in-law Heather Marco; grandson Dennison M. Marco; her four brothers Terrence, Dennis, Patrick, and James Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in New Orleans on October 14, 1952 to Terrence Ryan and Alice (McCarthy) Ryan; both deceased.  As a young adult Mary lost her leg due to an infection sustained from a procedure as a teenager.  However, Mary never let this prevent her from living her life to the fullest.  She raised two beautiful sons, worked at the New England Telephone and Southborough Medical Group, and even participated in walk-a-thons until she was no longer able to do so. In 2003, at 60 years old, she graduated Valedictorian at Mass Bay Community college in which she passionately remarked, “Don’t let anyone stop you or tell you, you can't do it."

Mary’s unwavering spirit was infectious and inspired all those who knew her.  She had a kind and gentle heart and was always willing to help others.  She also loved animals and was a strong advocate for animal rights.  Her family was very important to her and she was the glue that held them all together.  She was overjoyed to welcome her grandson Dennison in June of 2015 remarking it was one of the greatest moments in her life; she was always proud to show off her ‘Little Denny boy’.

A small funeral service is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday May 14 at St. Andrews on Maple St. in Framingham. Reverend Julie Carlson will officiate.  A small internment ceremony will be set at a later date.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton, MA.
