Madelyn P. “Pat” Kaveney, 96, formerly of Hyde Park, Norwood, and Canton, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, after a brief illness.

Affectionately known throughout her life as “Pat” and, to generations of her family, simply as “Aunt Pat,” she was a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Pat was a fixture at family gatherings and was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially in earlier years as her two sisters raised their fourteen children. She shared a special bond with her many nieces and nephews and took great joy in watching the family grow through the generations.

Pat was the beloved daughter of the late Madelyn (Donovan) and Francis Kaveney and the devoted sister of the late Catherine M. Casey and Frances “Maureen” Dick.

She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Maureen, John, Seanna, Jeannine, Michelle, Catherine, Robert, Francis, Siobhan, William, and Sheila, and was predeceased by her nieces Susan, Patricia, and Paula. She is also lovingly remembered by her many grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, cousins, and extended family.

Aunt Pat’s long life was marked by her love of family, her generosity, and her faithful presence through countless family milestones and celebrations. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of calling her family and friend.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the Feast of the Archangels, at Saint Brigid Church, 845 East Broadway, South Boston, at 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the Parish website: GateOfHeavenStBrigid.org Interment will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
