Linda Zyskowski (née McDonald) was born on September 9, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, and passed away peacefully at Tuft's Medical Center on July 10, 2026. Her life was a reflection of generosity, steadfastness, and devotion to those she loved most.
Linda was the cherished daughter of the late William McDonald and Shirley Johnson McDonald. Throughout her years, she embodied warmth and resilience, always willing to pitch in and do more than her share. Her spirit and energy were exemplified in every role she undertook, whether as a devoted wife to her beloved late husband, Robert Zyskowski, or as a loving mother and grandmother.
Linda’s love for her family was unwavering. She is survived by her daughter Rene Zyskowski and partner Lenny Ducey who carries forward her mother’s legacy of kindness and strength. Linda’s guidance enriched the lives of her sister Kathy Downey and brother-in-law Paul, Maureen Alex, Christine Garceau as well as the joy she found in her great-grandchildren, Martin Sheehan and Monica Sheehan.
She held the memory of those who predeceased her close to her heart: her daughter Monica Zyskowski, granddaughters Mackenzie O'Malley and Makela Hanscomb, her brothers Billy and Michael McDonald, and sister and Patricia McDonald. The legacy of love, laughter, and resilience Linda shared with them continues to resonate in the lives of those who remain.
Her selflessness and willingness to serve others made Linda not only a nurturing mother and grandmother but also a supportive sibling, a steadfast friend, and a beacon of positivity in her community. Whether helping to organize family gatherings or assisting those in need, Linda's presence was a comfort and an inspiration to all.
A Mass in Linda’s memory will be held on Thursday July 23, 2026, at St Monica's Church, located at 331 Old Colony Ave. South Boston, MA, beginning at 11:00 AM. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life she lived and the immeasurable impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Linda Zyskowski will be dearly missed, but her spirit endures in the hearts and memories of her family and friends. Her example of compassion, generosity, and unwavering support leaves a lasting imprint and serves as a guiding light for generations to come.
