Downey Joseph of South Boston and Squantum, died after a brief illness, October 16, 2023. Loving Father of Connor Galvin of San Francisco, Cherished son of the late Arthur F. and Annie M. (Gately) Downey. Beloved brother of Marie Downey and her husband Dan McDevitt of Squantum, Anne and her husband Larry Buechs of South Boston, Cathy and her husband Jack Tinlin of South Boston, Arthur and his wife Judith Kenney-Downey of Squantum, and the late Francis, Mary “Mimi”, Dorothy and Daniel Downey.
Devoted uncle of Taryn and her husband Brian Donovan, Megan Baker, Emma and her husband Matt McGuire, Justin Downey, Julianne, Jeremy and Katie Downey. Tristan and Lawrence Buechs, Kayla and her

husband Stephen McKenna. Konrad and his wife Tori Buechs,
Granduncle of Michael and Sophia Reardon, Tatum Baker and Teddy Donovan, Finnegan and Ronan McGuire, Aidan and Mimi Downey, Ashlynn and Aisley Nolan, Ava and Chloe Hawco, Isla McKenna and Anna Buechs.
Survived by many dear friends, cousins and the love of his life, Sadie. Sadie is Joe’s 2 year old Cavapoo shared lovingly with the Donovan family.
