Jacqueline Marie Brown, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at a hospice home in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Born on October 24, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jackie lived a long and joyful life marked by kindness, faith, and dedication.
A graduate of Nazareth High School, Jacqueline embraced her community with warmth and a radiant smile that endeared her to all who knew her. She devoted 38 years of her life to serving as a customer service representative for the Boston Globe newspaper, where her upbeat personality and unwavering commitment were deeply appreciated.
Jackie was a late member of the Boston Athletic Club, where she cherished participation in water aerobics, reflecting her love for health and camaraderie. She had a profound affection for children and dogs, embodying compassion and gentleness in all her relationships. A faithful and devout parishioner, she attended St. Brigid’s Church with great devotion throughout her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late James “Buddy” Brown (BPD), and the cherished daughter of the late Francis J. Shea and Adeline (Lewey) Shea. Jacqueline was predeceased by her children, Elizabeth “Lisa” Brown and Francis J. Brown (BFD), and by her siblings Adeline Callan, Nancy Shea, Edward Shea, and Mary McCormack.
Jacqueline is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jacqueline “Lynn” Glaze and her husband John of West Roxbury, Massachusetts. She was a devoted mother-in-law to Elizabeth “Betty” Brown. Jackie’s siblings who survive her include Sr. Marilyn Shea SCN of Kentucky and Gerard F. “Gerry” Shea, retired Boston Fire Department, and his wife Deborah of South Boston.
Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren Jessica Grande and her husband Eric, John “Jack” Glaze and his wife Elizabeth, and Linda Sullivan, as well as her great-grandchildren Victoria and Fiona Grande, Ronan, Fionnuala, Lillian Glaze, JT Sullivan, and Mason Shea. She also held a special place as aunt and godmother to Matthew Shea and his wife Kristina.
Services to honor Jacqueline’s remarkable life will begin with a visitation with family at WM. F. Spencer Funeral Service, located at 575 E Broadway in South Boston, MA 02127, on June 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on June 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Brigid Church, 841 E Broadway, Boston, MA 02127, followed by interment at Blue Hill Cemetery and Crematory, 700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184, at 11:30 a.m.
Jackie will be remembered not only for her steadfast faith and dedicated career but also for her enduring kindness, joyful spirit, and the deep love she showed to family, friends, and community alike. Her presence was a blessing to many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
